NREMT National Continued Competency Project Continuing Education Refresher Courses
All NCCP courses listed below count hour-for-hour with the NREMT. Each certification level is normally limited to a certain amount of distributive education which means only so many hours may be completed "at your own pace."
**NOTE**
NREMT Distributive Education Update for 2022
"The National Registry recognizes some of the unique needs and challenges that continue to exist because of the COVID-19 pandemic. We received valuable feedback from State Officials and other stakeholders, especially about access to classroom education. As a result, at its June 2021 meeting, the National Registry’s Board of Directors responded by announcing the decision to waive the Distributive Education (DE) limits for those due to recertify in 2022.
Distributive Education limits removed for the recertification cycle ending March 31, 2022 (EMT, AEMT, Paramedic) and September 30, 2022 (EMR)
All EMTs, AEMTs and Paramedics due to recertify on March 31, 2022, will have no limits on Distributive Education. The same will apply to EMRs due to recertify on September 30, 2022. This allows all Continuing Education to be accomplished online through any state-accepted or CAPCE-accredited program or education site. Of course, in-person continuing education will also be accepted."
Each class below is also available as a stand alone refresher at any time (no specific dates needed) for those who have let their NREMT certification lapse and need to renew. If that is the case, please only select the National Component for your respective certification.
All classes are completed through our online learning management system (LMS), Moodle. This LMS works great on any Mac or PC as well as all smart phones. Download the app here
How is the course run online?
This is a virtual-instructor-led-training (VILT) form of course. While the training is online, there will be a live instructor there with you on the Zoom conference call. The lectures, tests and other activities are online in our Moodle. You do NOT need to be in a training environment. You can be at home, at work, or anywhere else you want to be. Your instructor is there to assist you through the course and also to facilitate any group discussions, depending on the size of the course.
After purchasing your course, you will receive a user name and password in your email within 48 hours. You may then enter the online classroom.

The NCCP model from the NREMT is split into two categories. These categories are listed below as well as some short examples of each of our lessons:
1) National Component - this component follows the official NREMT update curriculum based on the latest updates and science. This is NOT just a "refresh" of previously known material but rather includes the latest scientific updates.
2) State/Local Component - this component is mostly up to you (unless your state has some specific requirements). However, we have chosen the topics for these hours that past students have stated is the most important to them in terms of keeping them refreshed on difficulty topics related to pathophysiology as well as those high acuity and low frequency topics such as pediatrics. Check out the free lecture below!!
